Some QLeave board members were left in tears and others were fuming after they were blindsided by the appointment of their new boss, outgoing QBCC head Brett Bassett.

It’s an astonishing and intentional oversight which has left plenty of people fuming.
Reliable sources tell us most of the board members of state government body QLeave had no idea that a new general manager had been picked to replace Helen Sharpley, who took on the acting role in early 2019.
But, sure enough, as we flagged this week, the job has gone to Brett Bassett, who steps down Friday as head of the deeply-troubled Queensland Building and Construction Commission after five years in the job.
Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace confirmed Tuesday that Bassett was formally offered the position in the morning following an external recruitment process and selection panel assessment.

This appointment is a reward for failure, for leaving QBCC in tatters.
This decision is typical of Labor Government decision making.
In a way it's akin to heartlessly denying sick and dying family members access to Qld medical and the comfort of their families by locking them out on the other side of the border but at the same time, rolling out the red carpet for NRL Wags and kids and welcoming them into the state by the plane load.
The Qld Government has lost touch with reality and must go. Good luck QLeave, your gunna need it!
For the sake of all Queensland people, LNP, get your shit together and get rid of the toads who are running this state into the ground.
