Fighting For Subbies Rights
On 27th September 2017 the director of Chets Constructions Pty Ltd voluntarily cancelled the companies QBCC license.
The nominee license holder has not been paid so he withdrew the use of his license leaving the director with no choice but to cancel the QBCC licence.
When a nominee cancels their license, the QBCC give a company director 28 days to find another nominee licensee.
No licensee in their right mind would put their licence on the line for a company which owes subbies hundreds of thousands of dollars with no means to pay after a developer cancelled a contract.
Chets Constructions owe subcontractors a substantial amount of money. I know one subbie who is owed $75,000 but there are at least 3 collection actions against Chets Constructions that we are aware of.
Anyone owed money by Chets Constructions, please email me at support@subbiesunited.com.au. Subbies need to be prepared for the worst.
Question for the Government;
- when is the QBCC legislation going to be changed to stop allowing people who are not builders to own and run building companies who have control of millions of dollars of subbies money?
Two current examples of directors of building companies who are not builders;
- Queensland One Homes Pty Ltd - In Liquidation - director was in real estate.
- Empire Constructions Pty Ltd -QBCC licence suspended - director is a nurse.
