Gold Coast building firm Chelbrooke Homes has left 38 homes unfinished after calling in liquidators owing more than $2.4m earlier this month.
The Burleigh-based business founded in 1998 operated in Brisbane, Gold Coast and northern NSW with a number of display homes in the region. Liquidator Jason Bettles, of Worrells, in a report filed with ASIC said unsecured creditors including subcontractors and suppliers were owed $2.05m while customer deposits totalled $398,068.
Mr Bettles said the company primarily attributed the failure of the company to being locked..
