UPDATE 05.10.17
There was word around yesterday that Empire Constructions had got their QBCC license reinstated.
As of this morning and after checking on the QBCC website, that is not correct.
A subcontractor contacted me yesterday and told me that Empire had asked them to "complete some work ASAP".
The subcontractor had called the QBCC for clarification and was told that it's illegal and an offence to solicit subcontractors to do work for an unlicensed company.
Take note of Contractors Offences from the QBCC website
Do not do work for any company that is unlicensed or has a suspended license. If you do, you are breaking the law.
On Friday 29.09.17 the QBCC suspended Empire Constructions Pty Ltd's License.
Empire were under investigation by the QBCC for illegal phoenix trading in relation to the liquidation of Queensland One Homes Pty Ltd.
Their licence has been suspended for "failure to satisfy financial requirements".
