Fighting for Subbies Rights

Only took 5 years and dozens of builders to drop like flies for you to realise that "No one wants to be stung by financial difficulties" as you so quaintly put it.

If it was only a sting it wouldn't be an issue, its the destruction we are concerned about.

"You may be interested to know that we are asking some of the biggest builders in Queensland to send the QBCC some information before March 2019".

Hmmm, very interesting indeed.

Well this time why don't you check the MFR's with a fine toothed comb to make sure they are legitimate, unlike what you did with Cullen, Walton, CRCG Rimfire and 50 others.

Dear LicenseeThe new minimum financial requirements (MFR) laws are legislated reforms designed to ensure that building and construction industry participants are operating their businesses in a sustainable way.

Under these new laws, by the end of 2019 you will be required to meet annual financial reporting obligations.

Why is this happening?

The new financial requirements are about helping you run a financially sustainable business, and helping to make sure that anyone you might be working for is also running a sustainable business. No one wants to be stung by financial difficulties.

What do I need to do?

You don’t have to do anything today. Next year prior to 31 December 2019, you will need to lodge new financial information with the QBCC. Talk to your accountant in the New Year and we will send you a reminder in early 2019.

You may be interested to know that we are asking some of the biggest builders in Queensland to send the QBCC some information before March 2019. We are doing this because it is very important to know that they are running a financially sustainable business. This requirement to send information in early 2019 does NOT apply to you.

It’s about the ones that engage in calculated criminal behaviour such as providing false information to the regulators or inducing subbies to work on a site when they know they cannot or are not going to pay them because of a fraudulent scheme. Its about the participation of the banks, pre insolvency advisors and builder appointed Liquidators to fraudulently defeat creditors.

Liquidators should always be appointed by creditors to ensure a thorough investigation takes place.

We want the rogues investigated and prosecuted for fraud.
