Fighting for subbies rights
You can help us stop fraud in the building industry.
Everyday people email us various documents and items that can help us bring rogue builders and developers to account for their crimes against subbies.
The type of documents we receive are:
- ASIC Company extracts
- ASIC director extracts
- Notice to Creditor reports
- Creditor lists
- Liquidation notices
- Photos
- Screenshots
- Contact details
- Blatantly unfair contracts and purchase orders
- General information
There is a myriad of items we receive including information.
Vital Information
Yesterday we were told that to get around the QBCC financial reporting that was severely weakened by the Neumann Government in 2014, a builder would transfer his own money into his company's trading account, then screenshot it and send that to the QBCC. He would then transfer the money back into his own account.
That builder liquidated owing subbies and suppliers many millions.
He lied, he cheated, he defrauded subbies and suppliers, he destroyed solid businesses and people's lives. Now it's time to "pay the piper" and get rid of the rats. That is fraud and deserves jail time, we are hell bent on that. The financial reporting rules in their current state are pathetic if it's as easy as that to pull the wool over the QBCC's eyes. Thankfully, they are in the process of tightening them up.
Rubble
We then sift though the rubble left by these destructive cretins and every now and again, we come up with a rough Diamond or a Gold Nugget that can bring someone undone.
There is so much rubble in this industry we now need huge shakers and excavators to sift though it but we often find that a new set of eyes will see a speck that someone else has missed.
Our experts then polish and facet the find into a sparkling diamond which can provide proof that can be used by the regulating authorities to stop the crooks and thieves in their tracks.
Quite often, by the time we are contacted, it's too late to stop the liquidation but we can limit the damage and prevent others from entering into contracts with their illegal Phoenix operations that almost always follow a liquidation.
Dirty developer
One permanently excluded developer has liquidated 6 building companies over the years. He is now using an unlicensed entity to build millions of dollars of projects with a nominee who has a maximum allowable turnover of 600k. The QBCC are working on it from evidence we provided. I hope they lock him up and lose the key.
Even now, after 30 years in this industry, I am amazed at just how devious some low life's are and what they will do to rip off subcontractors and suppliers and then come back to do it all over again. If they worked as hard at building, there would be no need to steal from us.
If you have any information that you think is relevant, please email it to us at support@subbiesunited.com.au and help us help make the industry a better and more financially viable place for subcontractors and their families.
