Dud Labor Minister Mick de Brenni has his hands full with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission.
Sources say it’s falling apart. Maybe de Brenni can sort it out from his new northern New South Wales office.
A QBCC whistleblower says it is consistently over budget year on year, needed a $4.3 million bail out for operational issues, increases its fees and charges without consultation and is headed for an overspend in FY 2021-2022 of $28 million.
The whistleblower, who was once part of the senior leadership team, said staff were stressed, despite headcount ballooning with no discernible outcome improvements in service delivery.
