Its your chance to make a Confidential complaint and and to ensure that something is done about it.

As discussed at the Ministerial Construction Council Roundtable in Maroochydore, the Queensland Government has established a Special Joint Taskforce to investigate allegations of fraudulent behaviour relating to subcontractor non-payment in Queensland’s building industry.
The Taskforce is headed by retired Supreme Court Justice, the Honourable John Byrne, who will be joined by detectives from the Queensland Police Service, investigators from the Queensland Building Construction Commission and prosecutors from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Individuals and organisations now have the opportunity to provide the Taskforce with confidential information about potentially fraudulent behaviour relating to building subcontractor non-payment.
As discussed at the roundtable, it is important that our organisations and members are aware of the Taskforce and that anyone who knows about or has been affected by potentially fraudulent behaviour has the chance to have their say.
The Taskforce has asked us to encourage our members to make submissions.
The avenues for making a submission are outlined below.
It is preferred that submissions are made through the secure website at www.qld.gov.au/specialjointtaskforce
However, you can also complete a submission form (available for download from the website) and lodge your submission by:
Email: sjt@hpw.qld.gov.au with the subject line ‘Attention – Special Joint Taskforce into Subcontractor Non-payment’.
By Post:
Special Joint Taskforce
GPO Box 2457

In person: Make an appointment to see the Taskforce at one of the regional visits. See www.qld.gov.au/specialjointtaskforce for more information.
Submissions close 5pm, Friday 17 May 2019.
Please don't leave it until the last minute. We would like to see this task force overwhelmed with complaints just like we have been overwhelmed with the blatant rip offs for many years.
The Taskforce will report back to government on its investigations and recommendations by 30 June 2019. More information about the Taskforce and its Terms of Reference is available at www.qld.gov.au/specialjointtaskforce.
You can contact the Taskforce at sjt@hpw.qld.gov.au or call 13 QGOV (13 17 68).
Hall of Shame
Lets refresh our memories of some of the fleas who have ripped us off for over half a billion dollars in recent years. Every one of them should appear before this task force and answer for their actions one way or another.
So should the pre insolvency advisors and liquidators who, to a large degree, did nothing in the way of investigations and did nothing for subbies. One thing they did do very well was line their own pockets, pity they didn't put the same energy into clawing back some of the stolen money for subbies.
I know these building company names are burnt indelibly into your brain and some of you may rather forget but lets get this done first, then you can forget once they are locked up for fraud.
A summation of some of the liquidated builders.
There are sure to be others but this is a start.
